Broan E5490SS Elite Series 36 Inch Island Mount Convertible Hood

Looks very nice and industrial. Definitely does NOT have industrial strength. If you want something that exhausts well, this one isn't it. If you only do minor cooking and want something that looks sleek. By all means buy this

This is a very sturdy hood with powerful ventilation and good lighting. The screens come out easily for cleaning. It's quiet on low settings and beautifully made - a showpiece item in our kitchen.

Well designed and well built. Looks nice installed. Only problem is a motor noise on the lowest fan level. Phoned Broan and they were aware of it and said it was normal. Would be nice not to have that motor noise as well as the exhaust noise. Medium and high are just exhaust noise.

Really great range hood. Be careful when installing the vent pipe that you don't obstruct the plastic vent valve with your screws.

We were on a tight budget for our kitchen remodel but I knew that one of the first things that would be seen, walking into the kitchen, would be the vent. So this was the most expensive appliance I bought for the kitchen. I wanted something that would catch the eye and this Broan Vent does the job.

The hood does a great job of removing smoke and odors. It looks very nice and is relatively easy to clean. I only have two gripes 1) the controls are hard to find without craning your head under the hood to find them 2) the knobs wear out and break relatively easily.

Our new fan is a very attractive addition to our kitchen. It is quiet and efficient.
