Broan E6442SS Elite Series 42 Inch Pro Style Under Cabinet Convertible Hood

Installed in a remodeled kitchen When something burns on the stove this hood ejects all the smoke outside before the smoke alarm sounds. A little noisy when using but works great. Replaced the 2 bulbs with LED bulbs from HD they work just as good as the halogen bulbs but use only 7 watts each.

Excellent light and good ventilation. Fan isn't as quiet as I would like.

Extremely difficulty to clean besides its super loud sound when operates. The worst purchase I'd ever made.

The unit is 4 years old. From the day one, the fan is not quiet (for $900, it should better be). A year after, started little rattling sound. For the past 8-9 months, it sounds like a diesel engine (I believe the new sound is from the motor it-self).

The 1200 CFM blowers are overkill. We never run them on high. The one time we turned them on high, sounded like a jet engine in the kitchen. If I had it to do over, i would have gotten the 600 or 900. Maybe you need a 1200 for a commercial kitchen, not a home.

We bought a Broan E6448TSS with dual centrifugal fans. Yes, as another reviewer stated, it sounds just like a helicopter taking off-- but next to a 150000-volt electrical transmission tower. The ELECTRICAL HUM NOISE is HUGE, and vibrates our entire house, NO MATTER WHAT SPEED is set.
