The Canon EOS R7 is a high-end cropped-frame mirrorless camera with a 32MP APSC sensor, 4k 60p video and IBIS. Canon’s calling it their ultimate APSC camera. Find out why in my hands-on first-looks review!
Canon’s flagship APS-C format camera, the Canon EOS R7, looks and feels worthy of its billing. It features the same Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology as the Canon R3, R5 and R6 in a weather-sealed body that’s smaller and lighter then the Canon 90D.

Limited RF-S lens range
The power and performance delivered by the relatively affordable Canon EOS R7 are impressive. This camera handles most challenges with ease, and most importantly, the imagery it can capture is outstanding.
The APS-C camera you’ve been waiting for, the Canon EOS R7 combines unparalleled speed and resolution...
The EOS R7 is likely to be as popular as the EOS 7D II was among photo enthusiasts, not least because of its price-to-performance ratio. A quick check of the comparison table early in this review will show the many improvements the new camera offers, including its smaller size and lighter weight.
The Canon EOS R7 is shaping up to be an impressive all-rounder for amateur snappers and hybrid shooters. Its combo of advanced autofocus skills, in-body stabilization and speedy bursts (albeit with a limited buffer), could see it top the wishlists of wildlife and action photographers, in particular.

Andy Westlake examines Canon’s high-end APS-C format RF-mount mirrorless camera, which boasts a 32.5MP sensor and 30fps shooting
I am a professional portrait and event photographer. I am very pleased with the sharpness and overall quality of the images produced by this camera, even with a Canon ef to r adapter and several canon ef lenses. The motor drive is lightning fast and the camera is very easy to use.
I use this camera for bird photography and it is an absolute beast! I had been using superzoom and bridge cameras before and this camera just blows them away. The autofocus on the bird's eye is just incredible.
Better than expected
I moved from the 90D to the R7, wow, just wow, what a super camera, tracking is outstanding and the 30fps.. amazing

Extra focal length from crop sensor
Only had it a few days and haven't taken many photos but already know its going to be a great one. I have two R5s which are incredible cameras with fantastic autofocus. I traded a Sony a6000 in for the R7.
I finally got to take the R7 out for some real use this morning. It's not the type of day I would usually go out here in Phoenix as it was bright sun and hitting close to 110 degrees just before noon...but with a new camera how could I put it off?!
