Canon Extender RF 1.4x

Buying an extender over a longer lens for financial reasons can make sense. The very long focal length lenses are considerably more expensive than extenders. Using extenders to save space (vs. carrying a second, larger lens) when traveling or hiking can be a good decision.

Works well, no loss of sharpness that I could see.

I purchased the 1.4 extender a month ago for the additional reach when required. yes it gives the RF 800mm an F stop of 16 but the R6 handles it amazingly. It also works perfectly on the RF 100-400 so is a great addition to my carry bag.

The Canon Extender RF1.4x is great. It is light weight, but slightly heavier than my old EF Extender 1.4x iii, but when on a lens it actually lengthens the lens less than the EF version.

I bought the extender to work with a RF100-500mm on a safari trip to Africa. I was delighted with it - the extra reach really helped especially with bird photographs and worked seamlessly with the lens.

Really wish I could give 5 stars, but I have to subtract 1 star for design with the 100-500. Must zoom out to 300mm to attach. But, it’s really sharp. I think the combo I just described makes the 100-500 sharper with added boca. Go figure with slower F stop.

Works well and appears to not degrade image. I have only used it with the RF 100-500 and it rarely comes off.

Service was good and communication spot on. The 1.4x extender does exactly what is expected without any noticeable degradation of image quality. If you need to get closer to your subject I would recommend the product. Only negative is the price... Too expensive in my view.
