Rented this lens and EOS R5 for a Rugby Match this weekend. Impressed with the results, lens is lightweight and easy to handle and use. Looking to upgrade to mirrorless down the road, currently shoot with the 7D Mk II.

Amazing RF Lens! Canon never fails... I have both the EF 100-400 and now the RF 100-500 and cannot to get back out there for all my wildlife photography trips... An excellent piece of glass!

Seems to be a terrific lens. Great detail, quick focus and light enough to hand hold.

Let me start by saying that build quality, design & performance are absolutely stunning.Love the little window on the hood for easy access to maneuver a polarizer filter. A fabulous idea indeed!

This lens has outstanding image quality even when rf 1.4x extender is used, just make sure the light is right. The lens comes with the predictable outstanding Canon L-series build quality. The 5-stop image stabilisation allows you to easily handhold stills and video.

I couple mine with the x1.4 RF adaptor, 700mm at my disposal with superb results. Not sure I will ever use the control ring feature, a bit of over engineering for me anyway.
