DJI’s OM 5 has arrived as the latest incarnation of the OM smartphone gimbal stabiliser. Again the OM 5 has the market-leading performance and build we expect from DJI, however, the OM 5 is somewhat different from previous OM models.

Recently, we got to check out the DJI OM 5 smartphone stabilizer for a brief review period. As you undoubtedly know, the smartphone stabilizer has become such an important tool for content creators out there.

With its successes in drone technology, especially in-camera stabilisation, it is of little wonder DJI now sells gimbals for smartphones to help boost already improving video quality today.

The DJI Osmo OM5 is a low-priced phone gimbal that helps you shoot smoother, more attractive video. It is not without its quirks, though.

While the DJI OM 4 was more of the same when compared to the Osmo Mobile 3, the OM 5 is a totally different direction for the series. It packs a smaller battery and no power bank functionality in favor of a much more refined, compact design, and some new selfie stick functionality.

If you want your videos to have a more professional look, the OM5 does a great job. But it’s not the easiest to recommend at this price.

  My Galaxy A53 5g is listed as not compatible with this gimball. However it works perfectly both with, and without the app. So don't be put off, most if not all features will be available with your smartphone. Very light and portable .

  App is difficult to download as not available in an app store. Takes practice, and some research for first time gimbal user. But no real problems.

Very happy with my purchase product does what's advertised very well.

Ticked off one of the long awaited product from my bucket list. Loved the way OM5 gives me full control of video with great stability and comfortable grip to the hand. Looking forward to use the Dji OM5 more often for my videos.

Very user friendly and takes really stable photo/video. Love the selfish stock function too!

I haven’t had the previous iterations of this product. I have not run into battery issues due to the smaller capacity. I don’t like having to remove my phone case in order to get a preferred grip on the cradle.
