Ridiculously good sound from a portable but useful mostly for driving IEMs I purchased this amp because I had a specific need: My Astel&Kern Junior was unable to drive any of my IEM headphones.
USB DAC did not work with my Android Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5. As others have noted, the playback was totally distorted and garbled. Nonetheless, the amp worked fine if just connected to the headphone output.
Purchased as I have two decent pairs of over the ear headphones, and some good quality earphones. My Sony MP3 player, while performing well for sound quality, didn't seem to have much power. I bought this to get a little extra volume, and it hasn't disappointed.
Really impressed by the quality of the audio produced through this DAC, and particularly like the fact it is properly portable. The ability to charge my phone from it too has come in handy. A neat little unit
I use this with my iPhone 5s and a pair of Sure SE425 IEMs. It sounds amazing! I hook the iPhone and the DAC together with a camera kit cable and a very short USB cable, it all works very well together and I am very pleased with the set-up. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Pretty good sound quality. A definite step up from my Note 3, but not quite powerful enough for full sized headphones of the Hi-fi type, like K701s, HD650s etc...You want an E12 for that.
Does NOT work as advertised out of box with Samsung Galaxy Note 3! Gives a slow half speed crackly signal that's almost inaudible. Eventual restarts and fiddling with the DAC function gets it going and audio quality is good.
Best thing you could buy for your flac music collection, listen to it with my B&W P7s, its amazing
Potentially five stars drop to four because FiiO are disingenuous. It is sold as being compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S4, but the reality is that the S4>DAC connection will only will only work by USB if you buy and install USB Audio Player Pro (a £5.80 additional cost) from the Google Play...
I have to say I was in two minds to buy the E18 but I did and wow, it is impressive. The build quality is very nice and it feels great to hold. There has been complaints about the short USB cable, I purchased a longer Lindy alternative before buying the E18 so I've never used the supplied version.
