GE GTX52EASPWB 27 Inch Electric Dryer with 6.2 cu. ft. Capacity

We purchased it new and noticed the dryer had continuous thumping sound as the drum rotated. Thought there was something wrong with it and had it serviced. Tech stated the built had a bump in it and it would eventually go away. It has been several months and it is still thumping along!

I purchase the GE dryer and washer. just recently after spending a lot of time researching the internet and talking with my neighbors as to what type of washer/dryer they had and were they happy with the brand. I currently have a GE microwave, oven, stove, and refrigerator. I love them!

It dries clothes without the need for a ton of odd settings and features of other modern setups. The minus one star is for the god awful end of cycle buzzer that you can’t disable. Don’t run the dryer at bedtime or you’ll be rudely awakened by it.

Our last dryer lasted 32 years and was still working, but we replaced it at the same time as our washer. This dryer was recommended to be as close to what we had for its commercial construction. Also, we liked the manual rather than electronic controls for perceived reliability.

This really feels like a commercial quality dryer. We are replacing a 45 year old Maytag dryer which gave more years than we dreamt. We are hoping this product can withstand a quarter of the maytag's life. Time will tell. But this looks promising.

Would give this dryer 5 stars as it is a workhorse, but the loud, long buzzer that sounds at the end of cycle really detracts from the quality of the product. Who thought this buzzer that cannot be turned off was a good idea? It startles me every time it goes off.

Dries our clothes much faster than our old dryer. The only negative is the very loud buzzer at the end of the cycle.
