Stunning number of features for a smartwatch, Great battery life for extended GPS usage, Offline music support
-
-
Expensive, No FE-C connectivity but almost everything else can be connected
The Garmin Forerunner 945 is built for elite functionality across a myriad of sports. It hosts stacks of features from music storage to wireless pay to advanced health monitoring and Garmin Connect, the most robustly featured software platform out there.
-
+
Lightweight and thin profile, intuitive, fully featured, very accurate
-
-
Expensive, hidden features that take time to set-up and get to know, blood oxygen sensor has questionable accuracy
The Garmin Forerunner 945 is a wonderful improvement to the two-year old Forerunner 935 and I like it better than my high end Fenix 5 Plus in large part due to the much lighter weight and less bulk. I'm even thinking of selling my Fenix 5 Plus to pick up my own Forerunner 945.
-
+
Stunning number of features in a watch form factor, Vast amount of customization, Long battery life, Just over half the weight of a Fenix 5 Plus, Offline music support

-
Price, $100 more than 935 launch price
For our money, the Forerunner 945 is the best watch in Garmin’s superb line-up. The lightweight design is slimmer and more comfortable than the bulky Fenix 5 Plus, and yet crams in more features, including the impressive training load analysis.

Lightweight, comfortable design, Advanced training load analysis, Exceptional navigation features, Music playback
“No matter the activity, Garmin's Forerunner 945 lets you track it in gross detail”

Lightweight, comfortable design, Advanced training load analysis, Exceptional navigation features, Music playback
The Forerunner 945 is the best Garmin running watch, period. It has a light yet resilient fibre-reinforced polymer case, tough Corning Gorilla Glass DX lens, a multitude of sensors, offers a range of hardcore and casual features as well as a long battery life.
-
+
Long battery life (both GPS and smartwatch mode), Familiar user interface, Accurate heart rate readings, especially in higher heart rate zones, Syncs with Garmin Connect automatically, Offline music

Lot of competition, even in-house
Garmin brings big features including music, payments and maps, all while still delivering big battery life and rich sports tracking to help make the 945 one of its best sports watches yet.
-
+
Slim and comfortable to wear, Packed with features, Now has mapping, Great battery life

Heart-rate iffy for high-intensity training, Expensive, Connect IQ Store still flaky
The Garmin Forerunner 945 offers everything a serious runner should need from a wearable and then some. You'll probably never use every feature, but if running is your focus and you're training at a high level, then this is the watch for you. Everyone else should probably look elsewhere.

Very accurate GPS and heart rate, Useful full-color maps, Superb battery life

Expensive, Iffy swim tracking, Rugged design
The Garmin Forerunner 945 GPS Multisport Watch doesn’t pull any punches. As far as a smartwatch focussed on tracking runs and assisting with your training, you can’t go wrong buying this watch.

Loads of features, Strong battery life

You would need to study the manual
Looks nice quality is good. However, if your getting this watch for training purposes or stats, don’t bother. It basically only uses outside runs, no tread runs, no gym work outs. Very disappointed. If I could return it I would. And the GPS isn’t 100% which is also needed for your training feedback
I'm happy I purchased this Garmin Forerunner 945. I had been using a Samsung watch and it didnt have many of the options and features I found with this watch. I especially was looking for a long battery life. This allows for 10 hours battery life when using the GPS and Music for my long runs etc.
Very happy with my purchase so far. It has worked great to track the various workouts I've been doing. I start training for an Ironman soon and can already tell that this will help immensely in the training efforts.

The battery is excellent and it is full of features

Its swim tracking is very hit and miss
I’ve used the Garmin 920xt for five years and the 945 doesn’t compare. The battery life is 1.5 days even with minimal use. It’s not user friendly navigating and setting up screens and the smaller screen makes it difficult to read if you want to monitor 3 fields. This watch is not worth the money.
I bought this as a replacement for my 935, before that I had a 920, so I am familiar with the Forerunner series. Garmin just keeps getting these watches better and better. Features that at first you look at and say you will never use (Body Battery, Pulse Ox, etc) you find using on a daily basis.
Bought this to pair with other Garmin devices. Can’t pair it with Garmin Edge bike computer. Can’t sync with apple/amazon music services. It does have lots of useful functions and a 100+/- page manual available online to study and learn how to use them.
Amazing watch I am loving it quite useful to better track performance and sleep stats. I highly recommend it.

Not the cheapest running watch
Garmin connect feature is great. I really like the running coach. I am not an experienced runner and it is helping to improve my running while helping to prevent injuries. Battery life is really good. I go several days between charges even when using it every day to track workouts.
