JBL has had a long and storied history in the audio business, and it continues to be one of the powerhouse brands in home and pro audio today. A quick history lesson tells us that the company was founded in 1946 and along the way it was involved in other brands, most notably, Harman Kardon.

Might be pricey for some
When I try to come up with a final verdict on the Authentics 300 , I find myself running in circles. For every thing I like about the speaker, there’s immediately something that I don’t.
The JBL Authentics 300 speaker blew us away during
Combining charming retro looks, seamless usability and a confident (if sometimes unrefined) sound, JBL’s Authentics 300 is mostly the real deal Nicely made and a treat to behold Forthright, bold and assertive sound presentation Versatile and easy to use Can stray into sonic brashness Hefty if you’re...
The Authentics 300 makes a very solid case for itself. It sounds decent and will sit in various spaces doing the things we'd expect a wireless speaker...

Decent sound with plenty of headroom, Useful spread of functionality, Best looking Authentics speaker

Poor external connectivity, Limited Bluetooth, Slightly too much bass at the 'flat' EQ
JBL is the first to make Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant coexist on the same speaker, and it works quite well. But the price you pay for that convenience feels a little uneven.

First speaker lineup to offer simultaneous Alexa and Google Assistant, Stylish retro design, Plenty of different ways to play music, Powerful sound, especially at louder volumes

Pretty heavy, JBL’s app doesn’t natively support Spotify or Apple Music, Tuning can overemphasize vocals
JBL Authentics 300 is just what it should be – fantastic.

Delightful JBL neutral sound signature, More than enough bass and treble to satisfy, A pure 2.0 (well, 2.1 if you count the woofer) with fantastic fidelity., Wi-Fi 6 AX, BT 5.3 transmit/receive, 3.5mm analogue AUX-IN, Punches well above its weight

No Dolby Atmos or other metadata decode (nor should there be), None really
Classic style with modern connectivity

Powerful bass depth, crisp highs, Cool retro design, Hands-free Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, App features EQ, multiple streaming integrations, Ethernet, USB-C, and 3.5mm inputs

Expensive, No Dolby Atmos support, Control panel feels a little imprecise
The Authentics 300 suprised me with its high-quality audio, exceeding my expectations with rich and deep immersive sound. Its premium material and design really impressed me. This speaker added convenience with its portability, style with its sleek design, and comfort through user-friendly controls.
JBL authentic 300 is definitely one of the best sounding speakers I have ever heard it has a beautiful design and it has a very good quality material. The theble and bass buttons have a very nice design on the top of the speakers.
Let me just start off with how great this speaker looks and sounds out the box. Super great looks all around with a solid design. It feels well made and built to last. Unplugged it after giving it a full charge and took it outside for some tests.
I have a jbl flip and clip and those are nice for a single room of sound. This authentics 300 fills the entire house with great clear sound. We take it outside and we can clearly hear quality music through the entire backyard. Even my neighbors can hear it. This quickly replaced my heavy rock-block.
This thing is perfect for small gatherings or just chilling in your living room. I really enjoy how it has warm audio while the bass is PRESENT. I also love how they put the sub on the bottom of the speaker. It shakes the floor in my apartment and I love it.
The speaker sounds fantastic. The wi-fi execution leaves much to be desired. I cannot confidently use Chrome to cast audio to the speaker. Alexa will not play Apple Music on this speaker, even though I have and use Apple Music on my other Alexa devices.
I like this jbl speaker. I use it as my main speaker which I use the most during the day. I have two others. One hooked up to my tv and the other for portable use that i take when I'm around the house. The jbl authentics 500 sounds great but the volume needs to be programed differently.
So many cool things about this speaker! I love the design and get tons of compliments on it from guests and friends. The build materials all appear to be pretty solid quality - sturdy handle, nice feeling faux-leather body, and responsive dials for adjusting volume, bass, and tremble.
Stylish and excellent sounding speakers. I play mostly r&b/hip-hop and some electronic dance music. It sounds superb especially the low frequencies and you can dial it in on the JBL One app. Love the Wi-FI connectivity as I can connect to my Apple TV and play music from YouTube.
I purchased my JBL Authentics 300 last month, it fits perfectly in my MCM style home and the sound quality is incredible and clear, even when it’s at high volume. It also has a sleek design and looks beautiful sitting on my kitchen counter. Definitely worth the investment!
