It takes a foot and hand simultaneously to open it.
Replaced my old Kitchen with newer version. The only complaint I have is the handle sticks out pretty far from counter top.
Works well, very sturdy. It has a nice foot pedal to activate the compaction. Highly recommend!
Compacts paper trash.
Love it!!!
Purchased a Kitchen Aid brand trash compactor thinking it was a good brand. Had a kenmore prior to this new one. This one is noisier and doesn't compact trash like the previous one. And cost twice the amount. The quality of construction of item is far than we anticipated.
While this unit is less noisy than our old one, it is still pretty loud. Not a huge deal but manufacture claims "whisper quit" feature I find that misleading.... Another feature I don't really like is the pull handle.
When I received my trash compactor, I was so excited! Plugged it in, did not work. Someone should have checked to make sure it worked before it was bought.
