I am mostly a landscape and nature photographer and the usefulness of the tripod can not be overstated. It assembles quickly and I love the independent leg logs. The ground level adapter allows me to shoot low to the ground, you will need a reducing bushel 3/8 to 1/4.
I am starting a video production company and I needed a light weight tripod that was easy to set up and had smooth pan and tilt. I am pleased to say this is a great tripod for what I'm looking for.
Thats right. Ive had 3 different ones and they all failed. The first one worked fine until I wanted to tighten the legs a bit and realized that the screws were are stripped. The second one I had for 6 months, then one day on a shoot, I go to extend the legs and one of them just falls off.
This is a very sturdy and large tripod, great for use in the wind but not sure I would take it backpacking. The construction is top notch and I like the padded material at the top of the legs. I would recommend.
I purchased this tripod to replace my faithful Bogen 3046 which was stolen recently. My selection was partially based on the weight of support advertised. I use a Canon body, extra battery pack, and mostly a Canon 100-400 mm lens, and have been used to a very solid support with the older Bogen.
Less moving parts means less breakage. This is a simple, strong tripod that is perfect for mirrorless video rigs and sliders.
I was looking to upgrade my tripod after purchasing the Tamron 150-600mm lens and decided on this one. It has turned out to be a great choice. It's very sturdy and easy to deploy. It's a tad heavy but not bad at all to have such a reliable tripod.
So far, this tripod has been perfect. I use it with the Manfrotto 502HD Video Head, and my rig is within the weight limits of both the tripod and head. It's very durable and easy to quickly adjust. I also love the port on the side that has a 3/8" thread for an accessory.
for professional videography
This tri-pod was everything I wanted and more.
