As a photographer who tends to gravitate toward prime lenses, I was genuinely surprised by the performance of the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70 f2.8 S. Nikon’s Z mount mirrorless cameras are still playing catch-up with more established mirrorless systems on the market, particularly in terms of autofocus...

This might be the costliest Z-mount lens yet – and by some margin too – but its performance goes a long way to justifying that price tag. Aside from a couple of aberrations that are relatively easy to rectify, there's impressively little to fault.

We’d still recommend the Nikkor 24-70mm f/4 lens for enthusiasts and travel photographers purely for its size and affordability, but for professionals and experts the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a no-brainer. It’s a top quality professional lens at the leading edge of optical performance.

I really like the Z 7 with this lense. It is a very light combination that takes great pictures. Very happy with this. Will be looking forward to more longer range lenses for the Z's later on.

So, I spend a summer holiday week in Montreal with my new Z6 taking along my 50mm f/1.8 S prime and my F mount 20mm f/1.8 wide lens. I used both lenses and came back with gorgeous photos though it was a PIA to constantly change lenses.

Since I exchange with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S), I carried this lens all the time when I take photos. The result is very sharp and crisp compare to my Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 F lens. Excellent product!

Before this lens I was using my f-mount 24-70. It is heavy and hard to use with the Z6 being there is no vertical button on the camera. So I took the plunge and bought its equivalent in the Z series. Its awesome. Its brighter lighter and sharp as heck from end to end.

First, I want to say I do not consider myself a professional. I have shot only two weddings and love to shoot for fun. However, I have been playing around with digital photography since its inception. For me Digital Photography only became practical since sensors hit the 20 mega pixel mark.

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is one of the most versatile lenses ever! This is a must for any photographer for just about any situation. Wedding, portraits, landscapes and sports.

The lens hardly comes off my camera. Us it for family events, video, landscapes. Excellent lense. Only slight negative is it is a little heavy, but compared to the f4 version, much sharper.

Before this lens was using the F-Mount version with the FTZ adapter. Based on YouTube reviews, I originally did not see a reason to invest $2000 in this native lens. I was having quality images with the 24-70 f-mount lens. But the size was an issue, especially for traveling. So, I took the plunge.

Highest quality manufacturing, small and light and razor sharp. It's an amazing lens.
