Impulse is the name of the latest USB MIDI controller keyboard range from Novation. There are three models: the Impulse 25, 49 and 61 and, as you've already guessed, the numbers refer to how many keys each model has. Beyond that, their feature sets are broadly similar.

using as a recoding tool, performs well, no glitches, pads a re a little stiff , seems to be well made and shows no signs of compromising to my extensive usage.

Keyboard action is synth style and better than most other controllers but still not the best. The keyboard is laid out nicely but the overall bulk of the board is way too big for a 49 key controller. Also, the styling of the board is not exactly pro looking.

Sounds great for someone that doesn't even know how to play one.

The Novation MIdi keyboard is nice intallation was easy the buttons and feel of the drumpads are excellent. Sliders are a little to soft and plastic like but handle well. Only complaint is the Automap software it pretty much useless unless your using Albeton Lite(included) not compatible with most...

Highly articulate keyboard, excellent mapping ability, fantastic keybed, robust, the list goes on and on. I just wish it was available in different colours because I'm not a fan of the stock colour, but functionally, it's really top notch.

This keyboard is a piece of art. I have never been so satisfied with product of this type. Great keys, great knobs, great pads! Great integration with any DAW you like with Automap. I strongly recommend this product for any producer who wants durable, reliable, simple in integration controller.

This keyboard give me control all parameters my DAW and plugins. Automap it is amazing software? you just need to install this software and you plugins will automatically set on faders and knobs. Pads very sensitive and can convert into launch pad for Ableton Live. Best keyboard for me!!!

I bought this product with the hope that I would be able to teach myself how to use MIDI with Reason and Pro Tools. It has been incredibly helpful! It was easy to set-up, it's as easy as install the software, follow the steps, plug it in and you're good to go.

I use my Novation Impulse for making basic beats in Ableton Live and Garageband. I don't have a great frame of reference, but can say that this keyboard has done everything I've expected of it and more.

I use this product hooked up to an iMac with Logic Pro 9 and Reason 6. Mapping is pretty good. I have have had one issue with the mixing mapping disappearing in Logic Pro, but I feel that is more user error than compatibility. The keyboard feels good (but that is coming from a non keyboard player).
