With super sharp results, a small package and a low price point, what more can you want? For portrait shooters in the Micro Four Thirds mount, this is an excellent lens.
With its first launch of the M.Zuiko Digital 45 mm f/1.8 model Olympus really created a stir on the market of mirrorless lenses, offering an excellent device for a sensible price. Panasonic’s task to beat that was really difficult but they managed to perform admirably well.

small, very handy but solid casing,, sensational image quality in the frame centre,, excellent image quality on the edge of the frame, including the maximum relative aperture,, low chromatic aberration, both longitudinal and lateral,, moderate distortion,, lack of coma-related problems,, slight...

some problems connected with spherical aberration.
Compared this on a GX85 against the Nikon 85mm f1.8G on a D810 and was surprised on how well it did. I'm glad I didn't get the Nocticron 1.2, which I'm sure is better but is also big, heavy and very expensive, defeating the reason for owning the GX85 as a small carry-everywhere alternative to the...
Overall I think this lens is a keeper, it's small, light great build and optical quality. But it does not focus anywhere near as close as people claim. It is quite disappointing in this respect. For example the Fuji 18-135mm zoom lens focuses far closer than this lens does.

Beautifulll, light weight and wonderful!!
Great lens, perfect for interview shoots and portraits. Great stabilization for b-roll paired with the gh4/gh5.
Excellent lens for the price. Bokeh is great and if you can get far enough from your subject makes an excellent interview lens. Eventually would like the Leica 1.2 42.5 but it's a lot of money.
Good lens for the price, it's not the as nice as the f/1.2 but it will do the job.
extremely sharp prime lens for the money you can't go wrong.
