The Panasonic Lumix S1H is a full-frame mirrorless camera aimed at professional videographers and cinematographers and boasting 6K video at 24p. It’s the third full-frame body in the Lumix S series, and like those models, is based around a full-frame sensor and the L-mount.

With the Lumix S1H, Panasonic has used its considerable video experience to bring many of its high-end VariCam features to the Lumix S range. Last August Panasonic announced the Lumix DC-S1H Mirrorless Camera Body and the praise & reviews have been steadily rolling in! Since this is more of a video system that can do awesome stills, vs a still camera that can do video, we haven’t dived into the system much yet, but we will!

Panasonic’s Lumix GH5, GH5S and G9 are among our favourite video cameras, but Lumix S1H takes it up more than a single notch to offer stupendous performance. 6K video with 10-bit color offers picture quality that is sharp as a tack, with superb low-light performance as well.

I shot my last shortfilm project with the Panasonic S1H and got wonderful footage in C4K all I 400MB codec. The S1H is not a lightweight camera but it has the right size for a travel-, documentary- and movie/ shortfilm stories.

This camera does everything. Just grab it, go and get creating. Sure it's big but it does everything, you don't need to carry anything else. Battery lasts all day, doesn't overheat ever and the image quality is amazing.

The form factor of this product is perfect for shooting in the tight and crowded confines of a pit box at a motor race. I need to get close to the action but not get in the way of the team. The S1H plus 16-35mm lens offers a perfect solution.
