The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 camera has true pro-grade video features, but its 20x lens doesn't perform consistently across its coverage range.

Quick autofocus. Solid high ISO images. Superb 4K video toolset. In-camera ND filter. Ample buffer. Solid ergonomics. Sharp EVF and vari-angle touch display. 1-inch sensor with 20x zoom lens. High-speed 4K Photo capture.

Disappointing lens. Pricey. Omits weather sealing.
Own the Lumix 1000 and this is great upgrade with the one thing lacking --increased resolution. Although I use these as still cameras only, they are undoubtedly the best camera in the field for Wildlife, Botany, and Birds.
I love this camera. It fits perfectly in my hands, it starts up and focuses super fast, the rotating LCD is perfect, the pictures it produces are exceptional, and I absolutely love the zoom range.
Yes it's a bridge camera, but I am using it as my bridge from taking stills to recording video. Video functions galore. It's much like the GH4 (without interchangeable lens), including installing the v-Log profile "DMW-SFU1-VLOG". I just installed this upgrade today and will be testing it tomorrow.
With the holidays approaching I haven't had enough time ti learn all about this amazing camera. The grip is perfect for my slightly arthritic hands. The lens is tack sharp all the way from 24 to 960 mm (extended optical zoom) and to about 1700 with the digital zoom. Love the 2500 at this point.
Excellent image quality considering the 1" sensor. Lens is fast and sharp; good at 480mm (FF equiv.) in the center and acceptable at the edges. For what it is it's a terrific travel camera. Is it great at high ISO's? No, but not awful up to 1600.
For pictures I can't tell any difference in image quality over the FZ1000. However, for video this is a major upgrade. Built in ND filters, a smooth zoom, much quieter then the FZ1000, VFR, and several other features found in the GH4. Worth the higher cost if video is the priority.
I don't know why so many sites say that there is no thread on the lens to accept a filter. I just screwed one onto my FZ2500 lens (67mm).Regarding the camera itself, I just shot several test shots at a local park--all at maximum telephoto and maximum aperture. overall I was a bit disappointed.
