When you use this great product overseas you need to purchase an electrical converter for the electric current rated for that country. I think every person should use this sewing machine because it has some many of the sewing options needed for those living and in fashion in other countries.Great...
I had a Singer heavy-duty machine for 25 years. I used it like crazy and there were always little things going wrong with it (like the bobbin case cracking, etc.). Well, when the feed dog finally went out, I just decided to get a new one.
I don't have any complaints about the stitching, but as many reviews state, it's truly difficult to control the speed of sewing. You have to press the pedal down a lot to start the machine moving, at which point it starts sewing rapidly, and after that you can back off to a slower stitch.
I use heavy Fabrics and Heavy thread and sew for 4 to 5 hours a day on this machine and it has held up very nicely!Stitch PerformanceI use the Straight stich and zig zag stich and they work very well!Ease of UseEasy to thread, pick stices and load bobbin!Fabric HandlingI sew with duck cloth.
Background: I have had the 4423 for several months but wanted to hold off submitting my review. I have sewn for approximately the last 50 years. I replaced an electronic Viking Husqvarna sewing machine (25+ years old) and an old White serger, with the 4423 Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine.

I like how well this sews through thick fabric. I have sewn many Jean projects. I find it’s a bit more challenging with the thinner materials but I do have a regular Singer for that. The problem is the tension I think. Can’t seem to get it right. Hope it’s not machine glitch.
I love this machine. It is so easy to use and tough enough to handle denim. I like that it is a no frills machine but can do so many things too. Exactly what I was looking for.Stitch PerformanceQuality stitches every timeEase of UseNo fancy gadgets or computers to confuseVersatilityDenim to...
I've been sewing for years. I only typically use the basic stitches on machines and this one worked great out of the box. Setup was simple, winding bobbins is easy and the instructions are easy to follow. Machine is smooth and runs very well, providing a nice even stitch.
