I wanted to put this through its paces before writing a review to figure out if it was going to hold up. Short answer is - it does.Longer answer. This is very well built. It supports the heaviest kit I have (about 13 pounds - large format) without any issue. It locks in place great.
I have used this head on an Induro CT214 tripod for about 2 years, at least once a week, supporting about 5 or 6 lbs of gear, sometimes more. Previously I have used a variety of heads, including the Sirui K-20x.
Very sturdy and stable. It holds my heaviest camera/lens combo with no apparent strain, and holds its position nicely. I also like the adjustable drag to set ease of camera movement for tracking moving subjects, yet it will lock down for doing close-up work. definitely recommended.
I have only had this a short while, but I am so far very pleased with this ball head. My initial tests with it supporting my heaviest and longest lense (a 55-300) have not disappointed me.
Well built and has performed initially very well. This is a large ball head, that appears to be able to handle most any load thrown at it. All adjustments operate smoothly and maintain the position/setting selected. The plate and associated hardware all match the same quality manufacturering.
This amateur is enjoying the K-30x ball head on a very sturdy tripod. Using this equipment to track the moon, 20 Jan 2019 ~ 8:45 pm in south central California. Will review later when I have a better camera.
I got this to put on a sirui tripod for when I go to get wildlife photos. Supports my K1 with the 150-450 lens with no real issues. I am still learning the pan and tilt knobs, but if your on a budget, and want a well made ball head, look into this one.
This thing is a tank. So far Ive used it with my 35mm prime and 300mm zoom. No movement whatsoever and it locks down without having to crank the knob too tight.
I use this with a 16 lb rifle mounted on top of it and it works very well and holds very strong. Very strong and great quality!
Bought this to use primarily as a head for my Pig Saddle rifle mount. Due to the constant front to rear unbalance, the head has to be very heavy duty. This head has not disappointed. Rated for 66lbs, it is supporting and balancing my rifles just fine. Oh, and it works great with my camera gear.
