10-18mm f/4 OSS E-mount Wide-Angle Zoom Lens

So long as the limitations of this lens are known, and understood, then this lens is certainly capable of producing high quality images. However, it is a shame that the performance at maximum aperture between 14mm and 18mm isn't up to the same high standard as when the lens is stopped down a little.

Upon first contact, we were positively surprised about the high build quality of the Sony E 10-18mm f/4 OSS - an all-metal lens body are fairly rare these days. This is certainly a wise move by Sony because you are impressed when handling their products in show rooms.

A wide-angle zoom lens, to me, is a specialized tool for travel photos. I purchased this 10-18mm /f4 for that purpose and I am not disappointed in it at all. It focuses quickly and accurately, having decent sharpness and contrast over the entire image, and it incorporates vibration reduction.

Loved compact design & lite weight compared to my other lens.

As far as the E-Mount system goes, there aren't a lot of options for wide angle lenses. The SEL1018 however fixes that problem by going Super Wide. Although with a focal length of 10mm on an APS-C Sensor makes it actually 15mm on a Full Frame camera, it is still wider than any other E-Mount lens out...

Great is the only word I can use. Worth the money...

This lens is a wonderful surprise. First I balked at what seemed to be a high price for this type of glass. I was comparing it to my 18-55mm "kit lens" which was about half the price.

I use this lens with my Sony a6500. It is lightweight and very sharp. I am very satisfied with it.
