Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens

Sony's FE 55mm f1.8 ZA is a prime lens for Alpha mirrorless cameras that delivers close to standard coverage on full-frame bodies. It was one of the first lenses available for the FE mount, and has since been joined by a selection of alternative 50mm primes, but it remains a popular premium option.

My first lens for my a7R III, just moved from Canon. It is as sharp as any lens I have used, size is reasonable on the mirrorless body, same quality as a Canon L lens. The price was good for what you get. No issues with video the AF motor is silent.

This is a good lens. Lightweight, very sharp and great color reproduction. This is a good lens to pair with your mirrorless A7 series camera. Its not very big or heavy and the 49mm filter size will not break the bank if you shoot with filters.

This is my first full frame camera and my first full frame lens. That said I think this lens is as good as all of the reviews describe it. 55mm on a full frame is a bit "tight" but it works well for candid family portraits.

This lens definitely lived up to its Zeiss name! Superbly sharp across all aperture and from center to edges. The bokeh is very nice and smooth as a 55mm lens and the colors look great. I actually bought this lens instead of the 35mm and have not regretted it yet.

Shooting weddings,this lens is always on one of my camera bodies. Its brilliant! Fast AF,amazing sharpness & color. Every Sony shooter should have one. I use it for everything.

Better than any other lens i have ever used. That would include medium format lenses for 5 times the price.

I have the FE 50 f/1.8 and for the money it's pretty amazing. The 55mm is however in a class all by itself. This lens is tack sharp with beautiful contract and color. It's my favorite street lens as it's smaller than most of the other higher end Sony glass especially at that f stop.

This has to be one of the sharpest lenses you can buy. but for me it's not just about that. With great micro contrast, beautiful colour and the Zeiss "pop" you will love the images.

Hard to overstate how good this lens is. Read the reviews, believe them.
