Viewfinder isn't nearly as good as the a7R V's, Single memory card slot, Omits dedicated focus control, Sensor readout speed limits e-shutter and video modes
I come from a Nikon 850, among others and Fuji XPro2. This camera will replace those 2 for sure. Smaller footprint and yet plenty of MP. Features are super and I really have the tool to do what I want to do. I mainly do Landscapes but occasionally wildlife.
Great little camera. A true baby-brother to the a7r v.
I bought the a7CR to be a backup for my A7RV but it obviously provides such a great camera for travel and street photography. I not only pair the a7CR with the small ‘G’ lens 24 & 40 primes but have now paired it on my newly bought 16-35 GMII, finding it remarkably balanced.
I have been using this for a year now with the 20-70mm f 4 zoom (which is excellent).I have had numerous occasions when for no apparent reason it fails to save an images or images to the SD card.
fantastic camera - great autofocus , excellent images that can take super detailed images, great battery life, sturdy like a rock and has never failed me. i love the form factor and the choices made to get this in a form factor that makes it an easy choice to take it out with you wherever you are...
I bought the A7CR for travel, I am exceptionally I did, it has put some fun back into photography. I usually pair it with the 24mm G, 40mm G, a 1.4TC and the 70-200 F4 G ii lenses, I get consistently good results.
i'm loving this camera - my main wish would be that it had a higher resolution dvf - and a method for setting a more subdued flatter look to the viewfinder -i'd also increase the speed at which it can synch with exterior flash and would like a better silent mode with a diaphram shutter such as used...
Had the Camera a few months now and initial thoughts are WOW!! Intuitive, easy to use and the features and performance make it a firm favourite with me.
I have had this camera for six weeks before taking a trip abroad, it has enormous resolution in a small format which works perfectly with a USB-C link, much easier menu system, accurate fast adaptable auto focus with recognition for humans and animals to give that edge in terms of eye-focus to give...
I bought this as a spare camera to take abroad, my other camera is the A7rIV.I have enjoyed using it and as it is smaller and lighter than my other camera I am using it more often now.
