The result of the new Swarovski SLC model is almost the same as the result of its direct predecessor. What the new device gained by a better colour rendition and transmission it lost due to flaws of the housing, a worse minimum focusing distance and the appearance of exit pupils.

light, compact, very solid housing,, very good transmission,, good correction of chromatic aberration,, negligible astigmatism,, slight coma,, sharp image in almost all field of view,, imperceptible brightness loss on the edge of the field,, tubes with excellently blackened interiors,, good quality...

a bit too much rubber armour on the housing,, minimum focusing distance of 3 metres.
The new launches of Swarovski and Nikon binoculars inflated the prices of these instruments to an unprecedented level. When it comes to the offer of the former, we get, in the 42 mm class EL Swarovision models which price tag reaches about 2000 Euro and SLC HD models cheaper by just about 250 Euro.

compact, tight and very solid casing,, good transmission,, well corrected chromatic aberration,, low astigmatism,, slight coma,, sharp image almost in the whole field of view,, imperceptible brightness loss on the edge of the field,, excellent blackening inside inner tubes,, good quality of prisms...

a bit too high distortion level.
Here we have another practically flawless binoculars, which won a very high, because second place, in our 10x42 binoculars test. What’s interesting, it fared better than the flag EL 10x42 Swarovski model, which is physically lighter, has shorter minimal focus distance but is also over 200 USD more...

excellent quality of housing, very convenient to hold and to look through,, very good transmission,, slight chromatic aberration,, practically zero astigmatism level,, low coma,, excellent whiteness reproduction,, imperceptible light fall-off at the edge of the field,, perfectly circular exit pupils...

distortion could have been lower,, minimal focus distance amounts to 3.3 meters.
First set a budget. Be sure your choice is usable for your purpose. These are not everyday binocs. They are highly specialized tripod based units.

weight, length, and that little thing called expense.
I am extremely pleased with these binoculars. The optical quality is stunning.
staff helpful and polite
Excellent binoculars even better than the 10x50 Swaros I had. Very bright, great clear image and light in comparison to 10x50 meaning more stability when holding.
Excellent quality, to be expected. with a Twilight Factor of 29 and a magnification of 15 x, they are very useful at dawn and sunset. They are a little heavier than some binoculars but I use a BlackRapid Double Harness and Bin straps, this helps to keep my neck comfortable to carry my camera and...
First class kit, expensive but the quality shows. Having used cheaper glass, the leap is amazing. Colour definition at distance is superb...
Ok folks heres the bottom line. Its called Swarovski. The whole presentation is fabulous. They are crisp, bright, and detailed. They fit your hand like a glove, and are just plain great. I shopped for months and the EL's are very nice and a little lighter, but not neccessary.

Best optical investment you will ever make. Your outdoor experience will be so much better.

Slightly heavier than the EL by 4 oz.
I my search for a binocular I would not want to upgrade in a few years I focused my search on Swarovski Optics. I was set to buy 10x42 EL's. I wanted to use them primarily for white tail hunting, so capturing light in the early and late hours was vary important to me.

cost less than the EL's, takes in a lot of light, great optics.

should come with a hard case for storage and transporting.
The best high powered binocular, yielding much more information than a 10X or 12X binocular in a hand-holdable, precision package.
